Boat Master Job Description
- To carry out maintenance work or repairs to Quay Infrastructure, such as fender units, quay ladders, and safety chains.
- To periodically check the position of Channel Buoys and complete/record minor repairs to Wooden Beacons and Navigational Piles.
- To undertake marine surveys and if necessary, retrieve floating debris.
- To undertake routine maintenance and cleaning of Belfast Harbour’s marine facilities and equipment including navigational lights and solar panels. Provide written reports in compliance with Belfast Harbour’s Marine Safety Management System on all maintenance carried out.
- To carry out routine maintenance and servicing of our Workboats and floating plant.
- Towing floating plant.
- To complete statutory checks on all Survival at Sea equipment and record same.
- To ensure Health and Safety requirements are always adhered to, particularly during on the water maintenance and around Docks and Quays.
- To undertake any other relevant duties as allocate.

Graduate Property Surveyor Job Description
Within Belfast Harbour, the Property and Place Department manage a 1,000-acre portfolio, consisting of a range of property, including developed land held under ground leases, new build developments, buildings, public areas, and large regeneration schemes. The portfolio contains a wide range of uses, including office, industrial, leisure, hospitality, and media. The Property and Place Department supports Belfast Harbour’s leadership team in the implementation of Belfast Harbour’s strategy.
This role is a great opportunity for a motivated, hardworking individual to progress their career within the property industry. The successful candidate will be expected to work towards their APC while gaining a wide range of experience working within a small team of chartered surveyors.
Person Specification
- A relevant, third level qualification in property investment, development, or similar RICS accredited qualification or currently working towards the same. We will support those still working towards their qualification with offering part-time hours until their qualification has completed.
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or working towards MRICS. Belfast Harbour will support and mentor candidates working towards their APC qualification.
- A full UK Driving License
- Be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge and aptitude of Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and understanding of Landlord and Tenant matters.
